Just because her father is a Justice does not mean she needs to be perfect.

"as an adult child of Scalia-- she is fair game. Her father has done all he can to tear this country down. She should publicly disown him.
The same goes for other adult family members of this regime.

No one is asking for perfection. Humanity? Yup.

Thanks, but this is a free country, and we can criticize her or her Asshole of a father, if we want.
The word I'm looking for is.....HYPOCRITE!! These so-called leaders are just fine making rules for everyone except themselves.
I'm sure she'll get daddy to make some calls on her behalf, and have the whole matter taken care of.
If it were you or I, Scalia would probably throw the book at us, but since it's his daughter, I'm sure he'll look after her. Those SOB's stick together.

Her DUI has nothing to do with Scalia. Unless Scalia served her the alcohol and put her in her car to drive home, this is dead on arrival.

|
... with having Antonin Scalia as her father. In her 45 years of life, she's had plenty of time to learn how not to be a total jackass no matter who her father might be.

Unless she works for him or at a job he got her, I say leave her alone.
She shouldn't be held accountable for her father being an evil asshole.

Driving a huge vehicle drunk with three small children in the back? That's a bit past imperfect.

she may need--no assumptions here.
Anything more or less is unacceptable.
And BTW-- as an adult child of Scalia-- she is fair game. Her father has done all he can to tear this country down. She should publicly disown him.
The same goes for other adult family members of this regime.

First, kudos to the cop who had the cajones to give her the ticket for DUI and not turn his back becuase of her 'connections.'
Second, if she needs professional help - and I do mean NEEDS and not use it as an 'escape' mechanism to flaunt the law, I hope she gets it
Third, it amazes me that all these supposed pillars of our country have messed up kids.
George Sr - dimson, jeb Jeb - his daughter Darth - Mary (and NOT becuase she is gay - she just has a crappy attitude toward living within the confines of the laws of the land) Scalia - his daughter
I am sure there are more, but after fighting snowy crappy roads to get home, I am beat and the brain shut off......

She better hope the judge isn't a prick like her dad. The interesting part will be if the States Attorney who ran as GOP Lt. Governor treats her like others. Recently he asked for a change of judges on another case because the judge is too lenient on DUIs.

| 24. Local police knew who she was from "previous contacts with the Justice". |
|
Google the Chicago Tribune article about this. She was arrested at 7:25 p.m. on a Monday night, driving drunk with three "small" children in her car, according to the Chicago Tribune article. The police were responding to someone who saw her drunk at McDonald's with these kids. I think Scalia has used his clout to intervene with the local police before. This goes to prove that anyone who enables an alcoholic is doing them no favors. They will just descend farther and farther into this disease until someone intervenes, they break the law and are thrown in prison, or they drink themselves to death. The local police are put in an impossible situation if they don't stop this drunk from driving in and out of McDonald's, endangering all the other customers/families there, and on their streets - no matter how much Fat Tony may pressure them to not arrest her. Scalia obviously cares more about his public image than his own grandchildren's safety! From the Trib: "Three of Banaszewski's "small children" were in the van with her at the time, leading to the child endangerment charge, Meloni said. He would not disclose their ages. Meloni would also not disclose details of her alleged intoxication, but said she submitted to a field sobriety test, though he could not disclose its outcome.
"Probable cause was established to arrest and charge the driver with DUI," Meloni said. Banaszewski was taken to the Wheaton Police Station, where she was released on her own recognizance, Meloni said. A police officer dropped her children at a family friend's home, a "common practice" when someone is arrested with children, he said.
A court date has not been scheduled, he said. Meloni said police knew Banaszewski was one of Scalia's daughters because of "previous contact with the justice" and "common knowledge" in the Wheaton Police Department.
Meloni said he has never spoken to Scalia directly, but the department's police officers routinely patrol Banaszewski's neighborhood to ensure her safety, a courtesy the department extends for others associated with law enforcement, the court system or anyone who requests extra patrols.

Curious if any cases have come before him involving these issues, and how he would treat this person if they were not his daughter.
I GUARANTEE you that he won't feel anything like that in this particular case, and will do EVERYTHING possible to get her a lenient process.

| 27. This daughter is the oldest of Scalia's NINE children. |
|
"While at Harvard, Scalia met and became engaged to Maureen McCarthy, an English major at Radcliffe College and the daughter of a Massachusetts physician. The couple married in September 1960 and have nine children. The Scalias have enjoyed a strong and mutually supportive relationship, enriched by their deep faith in Catholicism. She has done volunteer work wherever they lived, including working with hospitalized children, helping retarded young adults, and teaching in the Sunday school at their parish church. He has maintained his interest in travel and music (he prefers classical music, especially opera, and sings tenor), and he plays an aggressive game of tennis."
Now you tell me how any woman with NINE kids had time for "volunteer work wherever they lived". Wanna bet that a huge amount of responsibility fell on this alcoholic woman as the oldest child/girl?

If fanatics like him are populating this country with offspring like this daughter, then our future does not look good.
When watching what passes for popularity these days, and who people admire, makes me wonder if we really deserve the status we have in the world. Basically we're bringing up a generation of MORONS, and being led by corrupt and ruthless individuals.

i`m not sure of the deaths so far this year but 4 teens were just killed last week in a horrific car wreck. all these deaths involved alcohol. there has been a increase in adult deaths also. so to the people around the chicago area this will be a big deal. most people think that the down and outers are the only ones that drive drunk with their kids in the car..no it even happens in white bread upper class wheaton ,illinois.

and fuck her dad. I wouldn't say this about most politicians' families, but Scalia has a special place in hell all for himself - the man has stated the constitution gives no right to privacy. In that case, him and his entire family are more than fair game. Plus, being so irresponsible and reckless for putting kids in danger like that...well, there's simply no excuse.
