| Why? Why do they WANT to torture? |
|
What is it with the Pukes that they get all excited about using torture? Have they no souls? They know it doesn't work. They know America has no moral authority to complain if one of our GI's is captured and tortured. They know how America would react to one of our soldiers being tortured by a captor. So why in the name of all or anything that is holy do they get all foaming-at-the-mouth about torture?? They claim not to know if waterboarding is torture. They'd know damn well it was if it were used on one of ours!
Can anyone explain to me WHY they want to torture?

continuing the war on the Constitution. Also, they like power and have no respect for the rule of law, and they like to demonstrate that whenever possible. If enough people start believing that the law is whatever authoritarians say it is, they are free to do whatever they want.

they have no morals, no ethics, no respect for human life, (unless of course it's an unborn Christian life). I truly think bush is a sadistic bully who gets off on killing and torture, this is their "leader". Disgusting, sad and pathetic that this is what our country has become.

| 10. A couple of days ago, NPR referred to waterboarding as "controlled drowning." |
|
:wtf: Controlled drowning? --I thought "just how can 'controlled drowning' not be considered 'torture?'"
drown (droun) v. drowned, drown·ing, drowns v.tr. 1. To kill by submerging and suffocating in water or another liquid. 2. To drench thoroughly or cover with or as if with a liquid. 3. To deaden one's awareness of; blot out: people who drowned their troubles in drink. 4. To muffle or mask (a sound) by a louder sound: screams that were drowned out by the passing train. v.intr. To die by suffocating in water or another liquid.
I wondered about possible like-terms as: Controlled hanging Controlled beheading Controlled shot-to-the-head Controlled electrocution Controlled strangulation etc.
We are indeed controlled by evil...

|
It's got absolutely nothing to do with rational behavior or public policy, it just appeals to something very base and primitive in human nature. I think there should be some serious psychological and sociological studies of this phenomenon.

The same type of attitude where a conservative would kick someone who couldn't fight back, but would run away from a fair fight. Notice that the big advocates of torture are also those who did whatever they could to avoid getting drafted into the army. Just plain cowardice.

And in many ways, for a totalitarian government that thrives on lies, misinformation and skewed reality, that's a positive effect of torture.
