Think about it - we could lower cost for insurance/et al if we simply let people (government/companies) tell us how to live and spy on us to make sure we do the right thing.
Like the Scott's company firing people who smoke at home, and other such companies. The more we control people the more $$ you and I can have in our pockets....right?
And think about terrorism, if we spy of each other imagine how many $$ we could save in the long run, and that would make your insurance (health and property) cheaper and save you a few bucks.
Personal freedom should be toasted - money is far more important, as is security.
The rights and needs of the many outweigh the rights/needs of the few. Screw individuals and their freedoms, the more free people are the more they are apt to not do what I want em to :)
Let's start banning everything we can. Hunting/fishing (unless you are a corporation/govt entity), pot (oh wait, we already banned that), smoking (soon....), driving (unless for a company, no pleasure driving to state parks), sex (unless for pleasure, and only for pro-creation if you have a permit by the state to prove you have no kids already), using electricity for anything other than heat and light (computers and posting here are a pleasure, and uses kilowatts which drives up my cost - supply/demand ya know - quit posting and my cost will go down, your replies here are affecting me!), cooking on a stove - buy microwavable meals as it uses less natural gas to cook food, and... well, the list goes on.
