| Who is the poster boy (or girl) for the Michigan ballot fiasco? |
|
Edited on Tue Jan-15-08 01:29 PM by RiverStone
I heard both Thom Hartmann and Randi Roads share their frustrations with the entire Michigan ballot situation over the past few days. Thom felt is was a national embarrassment for the Democratic Party and Randi expressed lots of frustration that it came down the way it did.
It seems on the most basic level, fragile egos and possessive turf got in the way. Was the DNC being overly controlling or did the MI Dem party break the rules of the road?
Either way, here on January 15th, the pukes are getting all the attention, and many MI Dems are without representation for their candidate of choice (no Edwards/no Obama). Their only recourse to the whole mess is to vote UNCOMMITED.
So who should be sitting in the corner today - feeling the heat from voters for fucking this thing up?
Lets hope it never happens again.
*Honorable mention to Florida for a similar screw up.

| 4. Chris Dodd is also on the ballot, is he to blame too? |
|
I know because I've voted, and his name was at the top of the ballot.

| 6. So Dem leaders at the state legislative level... |
|
Made a choice to dis-affect many voters?
What are angry Dem voters in MI going to do to hold them accountable?

| 7. Yup, they did. The legislature screwed the pooch and voters are paying the price. |
|
MI Dems lost their delegates and MI Repubs lost half.
MI voters know their elected reps did this to them, I have no idea if there will be some kind of backlash against the reps.
I live in TX, so I'm hardly one to weigh in - all my elected reps are agents of Satan. }(
