| Air America/DLC most likely will try to take legal action to silence Rhodes |
|
You can bet on it. Randi most likely quit and I bet AAR lawyers are going over her contract looking for non-compete clauses.

I knew they were bad news when the Malloy firing went ahead.
They have lost their talent and their credibility with the progressive audience they have built over the years. The DLC has no grassroots constituency, so their listener base isn't really there any more.

and for the record they did not fire Ms Rhodes. AAR would have most likely have lost listeners aka ratings had she returned, which equates into ad dollars. Did you really need Randi Rhodes to tell you that The Clinton's were "corporate all the way" - There isn't a trade deal Bill Clinton didn't support, including Columbia.
It's amazing to me that somehow Randi Rhodes is completely blameless in this mess. She's the one who violated her contract, and while many here think she's "courageous" - truth is she got caught on someone's cell-phone video. Getting posted on the YouTube as Randi would say, was probably not part of the plan.

| 12. just my 2 cents--Randi got herself fired accidentally on purpose |
|
Randi was being a good even handed Dem soldier pretty much, but the Tuzla incident was way over the line. After that, it just stuck in her craw to --in essence--work for Hillary supporters. (I'm filling in the blanks here) She started really dissing Hillary at every opportunity on the air, not unfairly, but let's face it, it comes up frequently enough (don't hurt me) to start being noticeable.
When she did it in the stand up bit in front of the bosses and sponsors that was a straight out "fire me" bid, IMO. I mean, what else could she possibly be thinking? She's the one who's always bragging about how brilliant and crafty she is. She obviously did it on purpose so she could get the f out of that nest of Hillary vipers, right?

Hillary Clinton has bigger fish to fry vs going after a radio host who has a tendency to go off the deep end every so often.
Rumor has it, Randi has some clause in her contract that would have allowed her to go back to Florida. Which is exactly what she is doing.
How many more threads will you start on this non issue? She's gone from AAR, she done herself in. Let it go!

and how much she hated living and working in NYC, even though it was technically her "hometown"! I'm guessing she was begging AAR to allow her to return to Florida, and they probably kept saying no.

We have been very frustrated the past few days in our efforts to rectify the Randi Rhodes Situation (her suspension by her network, Air America Radio). It is our understanding that today (April 9th) she is no longer an employee of Air America. So we are bringing her back."
Monday, April 14th at 4pm... it will be our pleasure to announce the return of Randi Rhodes to the Green 960 family.

Even if there were a non-compete clause, I'm sure both sides have agreed to void the contract which will get AAR off the hook in paying her for the balance of it.
