| 3. It's not even loyalty (or slavishness) to Bush . . . |
|
It's that they're mostly shallow ghouls who want their subjects to do all the work.
Not to mention the "sub-genius" disease they largely suffer from, by which I mean that journos tend to be pretty smart (writers 'n' all), but not *very* smart (a la Gore, Obama, et al), and so tend to develop irrational dislike of public figures who are smarter than they are and not shy about showing it.
It's one reason Bush clicked with 'em so well -- he made them feel like frakkin' geniuses. (And by that, I mean deliberately. Bush is not actually as stupid as he appears -- how could he be and have survived to adulthood -- but he plays the moron very convincingly.)

Bush is basically a gaffe himself, while Obama is an educated, well-spoken statesman. So, you are comparing a little-leaguer to a major leaguer! All Bush has to do is speak to make a gaffe, but Obama, well they have to be on their toes to catch him in one. Refreshing, isn't it?

"Y'know Katie (Couric), I've been asked some pretty stupid "gotcha" questions over the past year and a half, and I've tried really hard to be polite, but you people are fucking idiots.
A real journalist would inform the American people on the issues, not involve themselves in partisan politics. You, as well as most of your peers, are corporate shills for the Republican party and do not serve the public interest, by any stretch of the imagination. Get a real job"
Then again, he probably ought to wait until he's President Obama to do that.

See how much credibility the corporate media really has out there. My bets are it's in single digits...and it's because of their provincial and bloodsport attitude of politics. It's a village of "conventional wisdom" (worthless gossip), egos and putting career and money ahead of integrity. For too many years these bobbleheads have had a free ride...carrying the water for the GOOP and profiting from it. They see change coming and they don't like it. Their game is gonna change and they're not the ones making up the rules.
It's time to get some new blood into the media mainstream...flush out all those who have long overstayed their welcome.

I'll bet ya a bright shiny dime that we hear CBS blame "deadline pressure" and try to pin this on some non-descript producer...and try to shelter dear Katie from having to do much more than smile and shrug. Then let's see how they explain away how she was sitting right there during the taping and the live broadcast and didn't realize the story that ended up on the cutting room floor? Some "Executive Editor" she is.
The other fun will be how the wingnuts chase their tails. CBS is the network they love to hate. I used to have a caller back in the 80's who always refered to it as the "Communist Broadcast Syndrome"...and we can remember the handling of the National Guard fiasco of a couple years ago. Now will they try to defend Katie? Or CBS?
The drinking game today is who they try to pin the gaffe on...CBS or Gramps. My bets are on CBS.

| 10. In 2004 Bush had at least 3 gaffes a day. Kerry had 2 the entire campaign. |
|
Edited on Wed Jul-23-08 07:36 AM by blm
Corpmedia chose to spin away against Kerry, knowing full well he was an eloquent and sincere statesman with a heroic record of public service. But, their job was always to make their corporate masters' agenda safe into the decade, not to inform the American people.

is understandable when directed at a US Senator on the senate floor. Imagine if it was the other way around.
