One BIG one. This year the machines in Ohio are controlled by the Democrats...no Ken Blackwell to play fixer. This is also the case in several other battleground...and even "red" states. As Joe Stalin said, it's not who votes, but who counts 'em...and in many critical states, Democrats will be doing the counting. Could there still be problems? Sure...Florida comes to mind, but the hope is to show so strong in the Democrat controlled states...including Virginia and Colorado that Crist and his cronies can't dimple chads on us.
Also, Gramps is a lame candidate...you can't say that enough. He doesn't inspire...especially the fundies. There are gonna be a lot less church busses filled and "voter guides" handed out this year. Many fundies still feel like a cheap prom date...some more than happy to "punish" the GOOP by staying home.
Then there's the "Barr Factor"...or should I call it the Paul/Barr affect. Few polls are showing more than the beauty pageant numbers...leaving third parties out. They do so at their peril. Remember, while the GOOP holds their coven in Minneapolis...right down the street 15,000 Paulbots will also be gatting together...and its sure not to endorse Gramps. Imagine if Paul endorses Barr...then figure that into states like Georgia, Indiana, Nevada and the Intermountain states.
One last thought...Obama comes from Chicago...the home of vote early, vote often. Many in his inner circle cut their teeth on the Harold Washington "council wars" of the 80's and were involved in 2000 as well...we won't have Warren Christopher as our head lawyer.
Cheers...
