Are we beginning an Executive Directive 51 emergency?

Okay, when NPSD51 first showed up in the blogs, I thought it was interesting. It was, I thought, conspiracy sort-of stuff -- not that I've ever shied away from that sort of thing in the past. However, I didn't really take it seriously that the Bush-Cheney Cabal would use it because I couldn't imagine a scenario in which they could get away with it.

NOW THINGS HAVE CHANGED...

Just in the last few days, these headlines give me pause:

First, our economiic situation "is dire". Everyone is close to panic. Bailouts are suddenly necessary consisting of unfathonable dollar amounts.

Then I read this headline:

This is ILLEGAL: 1st Brigade Army Combat Team to begin US tour on Oct 1.

And now, McCain is trying to suspend the campaign.

Anyone else a little worried about this trend?
