| Obama needs to do a townhall tonight - take questions from the American people. |
|
Isn't it time for the Dems to step back. The GOP created this mess, let their party and their president try to work something out? Why do the Dems need to solve it? It would be so good for Obama if he simply went to the "debate" and ended up having a really good conversation, question and answer session with the people!!!

And why are the Dems trying to save this bailout? Let the President talk to the GOP, they need to just back off and let the GOP duke it out.

We will do our best to resolve this mess because peoples lives are at stake. The GOP will politicize it - we will fix it. And if McCain doesn't show up for the debate, all the better! I think Obama would relish the opportunity to take questions directly from the American people for a solid 90 minutes.

| 5. Agreed but shouldn't the Dems just step back? There is a war going on in the GOP |
|
and NOTHING will be resolved until the settle it between themselves. The only thing that will come of this is the Dems who are in conservative districts will suffer and the Dems will get blamed.

| 10. People are watching the GOP in-fighting as their financial |
|
lives unravel but they're also seeing Dems attempting to work out a plan that makes the American taxpayer a priority. I think that Dems just stepping back while the GOP implodes might be viewed as politicizing and would cast us in a light of being ineffectual, unconcerned, ill-equipped, etc. But then I could be completely wrong :hi:

| 12. Absoloutely, That would be a bargain and a steal - he controls the narrative |

I still think McCain will show, but if he doesn't Obama should not hesitate to write that check and get on the air. Take the questions. Talk to the people.
This would be the final - and let me be clear - the absolute FINAL straw for McCain and his token vagina. It would sign, seal, and deliver the election to Obama tonight. That's what I don't think McCain can afford not to show up.
