VP Debate - can't be a "tie"

By Now, I'm sure most of us have stocked up on popcorn and beer is cooling in the 'frige'.

I think it's safe to say most of us, at least, are expecting Palin to blow it big time. From the blather floating around there is also a consensus that all Palin really has to do is show up and come across as being "likeable" (ala I'd like to have a beer with her)

This debate will be the most watched VP debate since VP debates were broadcast on t.v. IMO, 3 groups of voters will be watching.

Group 1 - Red Kool-aid Drinkers: those who really like Palin and it won't matter what she says or how she says it, they will consider it a Palin win.

Group 2 - Blue Kool-aid Drinkers: those who think Palin is a joke, and it won't matter what she says or how she says it, they will consider it a Palin loss.

Group 3 - Purple Kool-aid Drinkers: those who either haven't made up their mind completely and are leaning in one direction or the other. This is the group that needs to be convinced. The debate tonight will need to have enough substance or obvious screw-ups to push group members to one side or the other.

The outcome can't be a "tie". Th pressure is on Palin to perform and dispel impressions people may have of her based on the Couric/Gibson interviews. The question is how well does she have to perform to do that.

1. Yes that's right. The onus is on her to overcome those interviews.

She needs to show that those missteps were just that. Anything less than that means complete and total failure IMHO.
