| Why was McCain's rant about special needs children |
|
Edited on Thu Oct-16-08 07:03 AM by Are_grits_groceries
solely about autism. I agree that that condition needs to be studied more thoroughly in light of the growing numbers. However, it seemed a little bizarre that he didn't even note Downs Syndrome and then seque into autism and other special needs. I began to wonder if Trig was autistic. In addition, McCain didn't even mention any other types of special needs. He is a one note Johnny who apparently can't keep but one thought in his head, if that.
Edit: I find it absolutely horrifying that I know the names of all of Palin's children. I will need a brain wipe after this is over.

| 1. I thought it was interesting that McCain was talking about how the causes had to be studied... |
|
but when Obama pointed out that it would require increased spending to study, McCain went off on a rant on why does it have to cost money. You have to have accountability and transparancy. How can you study something like the cause of Autism and not spend money to support it?

| 3. my completely unfounded opinion is that trig is not down syndrome |
|
down syndrome kids still move about. Autistic kids still move about.
this kid never moves, not even in an attempt to get more comfortable.
As someone who had a close relative who had a schizencephaly child, it reminds me more of that. If it is that or something akin to that, the Palins are in for a life long heartache.
I hope I"m wrong, for the baby's sake. Down's syndrome children can live happy, productive lives. I'm in the bizarre position of hoping trig is down's syndrome.
