| Rachel Maddow's Limited Wardrobe |
|
As a Poli-Sci undergrad I am ABSOLUTELY pleased that a Doctor of Political Science is being given 5hrs a week on the TV machine.
I am also happy that she is demonstrating her left-leaning views in a subtle wardrobe way. I am both a recycler and and thrift store shopper. I have encountered work environments where people definately noticed what you were wearing day-in and day-out. I hate the fact that that matters to so many people.
I like seeing her wear something I have seen before. Though I respect Olbermann's intellect, he does at times seem to be something of a "dandy" in respect to his appearance.
Maddow is SOLID!
I'm just sayin'

| 1. I like her low-key set, pace, and graphics too. |

It's a welcome break from the glitzy Fox formats and even Keith. Sorta reminds me of the great no-nonsense 1980s CNN Headline News (come back to the 5 and dime Lynn Vaughn Lynn Vaughn!)

|
You don't need a wardrobe. No one at our house would turn her off even if she came on the set in her birthday suit.

| 7. I love Rachel, too, and am so glad she was finally given her own TV forum... |
|
She probably isn't used to thinking about makeup, let alone wardrobe, since she's used to radio. If you've ever seen "Left of the Dial," she has changed her look quite a bit. She usually wears sneakers and wears her glasses when she appears on other shows. She once even came out in pajamas and fuzzy slippers, I forget why, LOL.
She once told a funny story on her radio show. She was at home, in Massachusetts, chopping up a tree that had fallen in her driveway, when she was suddenly called to appear on an MSNBC show. She dropped everything and rushed to the local TV studio, with her jacket hanging out the window to get the wrinkles out of it, LOL.:D
When she got there, the local anchor was waiting for her and said that she had both good and bad news. The good news was that she was there to do Rachel's make-up. But the bad news was that she only had her own makeup, so Rachel was going to have to be Hispanic...
And she's got to be the brightest and most watchable news person on TV...:applause:

That's one of the great things about Rachel, makes her so watchable, is that no matter how serious things get, there's always some humor in her shows...:D

| 8. But there's a stylish way of recycling clothes, and Rachel has no clue |
|
For starters, if you're going to be dumb enough to wear tank tops continually, even in the winter, WEAR A FREAKIN' NECKLACE. I'm not asking for pricey jewelry, just ANYTHING to make her look as if she didn't throw on a blazer and just walk out of the house.
Or better yet, a few nice blouses would look a lot more professional. Wear the same 5 blouses over and over for all I care...just get a clue as to what you wear with a blazer! :banghead:
I will say, though, she was less annoying than usual tonight. I managed to get through an entire program without feeling the urge to bitch-slap her and tell her to quit spewing non-stop gloom and doom.
I still wish she'd do something about that sickening half-smirk, though. Unless she's had a stroke, there's no reason for her to talk out of just ONE side of her mouth all the time....

| 12. #1) She really doesn't care about packaging.... really |
|
And what do you object to more, her wardrobe or her delivery..
And if if bothers you so much, why do you watch?
I am just so delighted that she's presenting aspects of the news that we hear nowhere else that she could come in dressed like she wants (a 10 year old boy) and BURP it. She packs more solid information in an hour than CNN manages to get over the air in a whole season. And her guests are people who actually know what they're talking about(What a concept!)

|
I only get focused on clothes when the speaker is losing value for me, right before I turn it off altogether.
Wanna see clothes? Buy a magazine. Go look in the closet. Go shopping.
As the poster before me said, what's noticeable about her might be her excellent character, great spirit, exceptional intelligence.

|
He's the kind of guy who walks into the suit shop and buys whatever the guy tells him to. (He used to say as much back when he still did Dan Patrick's radio show.) A "dandy" he is not.
Oh, and he never sits on the back of his jacket.

| 14. I'm a long time Keith fan. He dresses like a sports caster. |
|
I don't think that clothes make the man -- or person, but it is a TV appearance. Sometimes he's OK, but occasionally, the patterns he wears clash horribly. I sometimes wonder if he's color blind. Colbert is one of the best. Brooks dresses him, and I don't see why Keith couldn't get a similar deal. Stewart is OK, but kind of conservative (in clothing) for my taste. I hate to say it, but IMO the best dressed man on TV is Fred Barnes. Too bad he's an idiot.
Rachel's clothes are OK. I'd rather see her in something more like she is comfortable with. When she first appeared on TV, with Tucker, she looked great. Jeans and button down shirts, sneakers. TV requires makeup. That's just the way it goes.

I like KO and Rachel. Keith's clothing is always impeccable and very stylish. I don't see why we are comparing the two. Rachel is more toned down. The only thing I don't like about her tank styled top is that there is a shadow on her neck that is kind of distracting, probably from the lighting.
