"The subpoenas have been issued."
Aside from that, you'll have to let Congress do its job. "Never rush a miracle man, or you get rotten miracles."

| 3. True. And maybe if they coat the subpoenas in chocolate, they'll go down easier. |

chat with the DOJ guys. Only the House has even begun an investigation. Give it some time. Why the rush when we need to have as much ammo as possible?

| 6. I would swear I saw a Dem on TV Tuesday, stating that subpoenas would go out today. |
|
I wish I could remember who it was. It wasn't Conyers, because I'd remember him. I wasn't really following closely, but I would swear that's what the guy said, subpoenas would go out on Thursday.
It was on CNN or MSNBC during the late afternoon/evening news blitz.

Means nothing though, huh? they are liable to drag their feet on this. I just fell that * has said he is 100% NOT going to cooporate. So WTF is Leahy waiting for. I am so surprised that many DUers are willing to give them time on this. PUSH FOR THE SUBPOENAS NOW!

| 11. No, you misunderstood |
|
The subpoenas were APPROVED/AUTHORIZED by the Senate Judiciary Committee today, just as the House Judiciary Committee did on Tuesday. NONE of those subpoenas have been issued, but the chairman of each of those respective committees is now empowered/authorized to issue those subpoenas when necessary. For now, they are just threats held in the chairman's back pocket for use as leverage in negotiations with the White House. If and when those negotiations break down (as they most assuredly will), then the subpoenas will actually be issued. But not before.
