Barack Obama and Sarah Palin appear in comic series

Barack Obama's image has blessed everything from t-shirts to mugs to book covers and cup cakes, but the American president is now due to debut in a major comic series.

The Democrat leader will appear as Barack the Barbarian "destined to save the great republic of America and dethrone the overpaid despots of the time".

In the cartoon, the leader of Kickassistan takes on his Nemesis, former Republican vice presidential candidate and Alaska Governor, Sarah Palin, who sports a cape made from wolf skin and her trademark glasses - and very little else.

Chicago-based publishers Devil's Due asked readers to "Join Barack, Sorceress Hilaria, her demi-god trickster husband Biil, Overlord Boosh and Chainknee of the Elephant Kingdom. Who can the lone barbarian trust, if anyone?"
