Side note: sorry if I have not replied back to some on my other threads, had a really bad day and won't go into it much except to say it was personal in nature and affects my life deeply. Finally have some time tonight, so...
Pirates. AIG. Guns. Economy. Foreclosures. Car companies. And so on.
The media seems to love to get us all focused on something, then politicians and others validate our feelings on those issues and address them and show us how they are working on them.
I am ok with that to a point. But it just seems to me those in media, and those in power, are in no rush to make certain things urgent matters that need solved now.
Maybe because those in media, power, and government all have health care. And jobs. And a way to eat and keep a roof over their heads.
Many now don't. I do right now (though I didn't for a spell).
A lone captain was in a dire situation, and we used all our resources to save him. And I am glad we did.
But I will also note that many here are facing dire situations where they could die from lack of health care. Far too many are held hostage by their economic situation - and it was not caused by people getting loans for homes, it was caused by greedy companies doing stupid things to make even more money and paying out insane bonuses.
When will there be a crisis based around the needs of us all and how it threatens us? We have the equivalent of folks holding guns to our heads but rescuing us does not seem to be a priority to some.
Rant off.
