Between the economy and the first African American president, Homeland Security is seeing disturbing activity from right wing domestic terrorists. http://www.fas.org/irp/eprint/rightwing.pdf

|
When it happens we need to hang it around the GOP's neck and never stop reminding them of their role in spreading fear and hatred amongst the people.

| 5. The GOP and their hangers on |
|
are already to blame for this. The "he is a muslim" meme, "Resident not President". etc. It goes right to the heart of the extreme right and the hard right Republicans, now they have found that they need a wider base than the religious nuts are going right after the racist nuts.
They are playing with fire.

|
and tended to be very careful in their targeting. Right wing terrorist groups have historically been far more dangerous.

Calling animal rights groups terrorists is a stretch.

|
as McVeigh or the guy who went on the shooting spree at the Unitarian church because he thought he'd be doing everyone a favor by taking a few 'libruls' out with him.

| 19. Left wing "terrorist" groups haven't done anything beyond property destruction |
|
in a long time. And a lot of that property destruction is limited to broken windows and graffiti. You have a few cases of arson, but that's really the worst of it. Right wingers are not only heavily armed, but in the past they've been known to plan chemical weapons attacks. Fortunately they were intercepted before those attacks could be carried out. May we have as much luck this time.

"DHS/I&A assesses that rightwing extremists will attempt to recruit and radicalize returning veterans in order to exploit their skills and knowledge derived from military training and combat. These skills and knowledge have the potential to boost the capabilities of extremists—including lone wolves or small terrorist cells—to carry out violence. The willingness of a small percentage of military personnel to join extremist during the 1990s because they were disgruntled, disillusioned, or suffering from the psychological effects of war is being replicated today.
— (U) A prominent civil rights organization reported in 2006 that 'large numbers of potentially violent neo-Nazis, skinheads, and other white supremacists are now learning the art of warfare in the armed forces.'
— (U//LES) The FBI noted in a 2008 report on the white supremacist movement that some returning military veterans from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have joined extremist groups."
The chickens coming home to roost, only there are lot more of them coming back with much more violent experiences and serious trauma. Local police forces would be no match for even several Marines who fought in Fallujah.
