| 9. They're really trying to make this into something big |
|
Locally, there's a deejay who has shows on both an AM talk station and an FM oldies station. He's a wingnut, but I don't mind when he's on the oldies station b/c he keeps his mouth shut about his politics. Today, though, he mentioned the tea party on his oldies show and encouraged everyone to be there "whether you want to pay higher taxes or lower." Yeah, sure, man... :eyes:
The new spin trying to make this protest out to be nonpartisan is such a joke. Most Americans are paying *lower* taxes now under Obama, and now they're suddenly up-in-arms about how overly taxed they are- and hitting the streets? If they're not partisan hacks or rich, they're brainwashed fools. (I guess those three categories pretty much cover the Repug base, though...)

Promoting it BIG time; claiming it's a revolution (!) bigger than Obama rallies; in hundreds of cities with hundreds of thousands of people. I really think they've outdone themselves this time and the whole thing is going to be a surreal display of American stupidity.
I'm looking forward to it! :D
