22. I Posted This On Another Forum, And Got This Response

One of the more knuckle-dragging Right-wing mouth breathers on a site I frequent posted this within minutes of me posting the pic: "Although I'm sure you meant this as a blasphemous shot against Christians, it is actually correct. Jesus is the Son of God."

Honestly, I don't see what could be considered blasphemous about it. Any Christian would tell you it's true. Joseph WASN'T Jesus' father. So why are they so offended by this? I think a lot of them are just looking for something to be offended by. I love a good jab at the fundies as much as the next guy, but I didn't think this really was in that vein. I just thought it was funny.

Here's what I posted in response: "If I walked up to any Average Joe Christian on the street and said, "You know............Joseph wasn't Jesus' father," how many would calmly respond, "Yeah, I know," with a "Thank you, Captain Obvious" look on their faces, and how many would point an accusatory finger at me and shriek, "BLASPHEMER!!!" I think only the people who could be filed under the "bat-shit crazy" column would respond in the latter manner."
