| Darn it. Here we go again.... |
|
My husband's boss called a meeting to talk to the crew about possible furloughs or layoffs if enough people can't be found to take early retirement. We went through a similar period last year but layoffs were not mentioned as part of the equation.
We could hang on for a few months, but would definitely lose our health insurance. Couldn't afford COBRA if we want to maintain a household and we live fairly thriftily. I've been unemployed for nearly 3 years now too. Keep your fingers crossed and hold your breath.

I happen to be one of the lucky "unlucky" ones. My hours have been cut to 33 hours a week instead of 40, but I still have a job, and for that I am grateful.
My heart goes out to everyone who has been affected by this economy. I worry for my kids. Right now they both have jobs, but are working 2 jobs each.
Hang in there. What else can you do?

I have been unemployed only 3 months, and it is already driving me crazy. But at least now I have time to be a poster, instead of just a lurker, hahaha...

| 11. We are in a rural county and what jobs there are keep disappearing. |
|
No I haven't been offered any jobs, and I have interviewed. It gets really discouraging.

| 12. Part of the stimulus is to support COBRA payment |
|
I think that the government pays like 65%. Also, if you don't have any "pre-existing" conditions you may want to check for individual policies.
