Yes my fellow DU'ers, that must be the latest catchy phrase issued by Karl Rove. It first caught my attention during the Gonzales hearing...perhaps we should have counted how many times he said it because I know it was SEVERAL times. Today we hear Bush say the exact same thing during his comments about Gonzales. The White House press valley girl Dana Perino said the exact same phrase as well.

My question is, Karl, what makes you think we DON'T understand?? I think most DU'ers will agree, the majority of Americans now understand far too well. We're way ahead of you Karl & George & like, Dana.

American people can understand". I always take that to mean that he's going to repeat what his handlers told him so he would "understand" what he was trying to talk about.
