Does Obama understand who he's dealing with?

He's not dealing with the cutesy "fiscal conservative" Republicans or "moderates" at Harvard or in Chicago.

He's dealing with white people who still use the "N' word and who are PISSED OFF that a black man is the President.

These are a great majority of the Republicans in Washington, in the House and the Senate; people who would be Klansmen if this were 1930.

People like DeMint, Sessions, Shelby, Burr, and Chambliss, among others.

6. I live in the deep south and am surrounded by these creeps.

It's like that old Eddie Murphy skit on SNL. He dresses up like a white man and finds out that after all the black people leave the bus, the party begins. Whites are great at saying, "I'm not a racist" but down deep it's there.

My right wing southern parents were fine with my new gay friend when I was a teenager...until they met him and noticed his race.

Some of my relatives still use the "N" word to describe race. "That "n" fellow over there.", they might say. They still call Brazil nuts "n" toes, but claim loudly "I'm not a racist!".

But still, Mr. President must be smart enough to know what and who he is dealing with. He is just better than they are and trying to take the high road. I just hope his way of dealing with these monsters is the right way. Personally, I want to kick their collective asses.

8. It's recently dawned on me that he knows EXACTLY who he's

dealing with, and how to do it. I can't believe I thought he just didn't SEE it -- he saw it, and I believe he's going to emerge victorious. He's played this game for a long time, he's shrewd. I'm heartily encouraged, and won't doubt him out of hand ever again, regardless of what he says to the press.
