| My letter to the editor re: Dennis Kucinich and impeachment |
|
Dear Editor:
On Tuesday, April 24th, Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) introduced Articles of Impeachment against Vice President Dick Cheney.
Americans across the country should be breathing a sigh of relief. Finally, someone had the guts to say what many Americans have been thinking for the past six years: this administration is corrupt.
Is there one thing that they have touched that they haven’t screwed up? Let me count the scandals for you:
1. Lobbying scandal involving Jack Abramoff 2. Halliburton’s no-bid contracts and overcharges 3. Diversion of Afghanistan war funds to Iraq 4. Medicare scandal 5. The outing of CIA agent Valerie Plame 6. Abu Ghraib prison torture 7. Katrina 8. Warrantless spying on the American people 9. Prosecutors scandal 10. Politicizing government agencies (Hatch Act) 11. Walter Reed/VA scandal
This list, unfortunately, is not complete. Nor does it include the biggest scandal of all: the lies we were told to get us into a pre-emptive war with Iraq and the botched manner in which this war has been conducted. And, remember, these scandals are just the “tip of the iceberg.” Now that the Democrats have regained control over the Congress, I am sure that more will be uncovered.
Thank God for people like Dennis Kucinich, who are not afraid to say what the American people have been thinking; who give voice to the best interests of this great nation: Enough is enough. Get these incompetent, arrogant, lying, cheating scoundrels out of our government. Impeach.

| 5. I sent it to the Valley Morning Star in the Rio Grande Valley |

I'd like to send it to other papers, but I'm not sure that's kosher. Is it? To send the same letter to different papers? Don't newspapers frown on that?
You know, they say that all politics is local. And, when it comes to these small papers, they get so few LTTE that one is almost assured, if the letter is written well, to get published. And there are thousands and thousands of small newspapers across this country. I wish someone would get together an LTTE "team" and start hitting these papers with letters of this kind.

| 6. I'm rather surprised and disappointed... |

...that Dennis hasn't gotten more support among his party members.
For years, everyone seems to have been in agreement that yes, it would be a very good idea to bell the cat, but nobody wanted actually DO anything about it. :eyes:
Finally Dennis Kucinich steps up and says "Here, give ME the damn bell. I'll do it." :patriot::applause: I don't care if he IS running for President; he still deserves the full support of his entire party on this.
