I have heard that more and more Christian Conservatives are being told to move to San Francisco not only to attempt to "Save" us, but to change our politics to a more conservative viewpoint. I have certainly seen more people recently standing about downtown with signs, with verses from the bible and telling people to change their ways.


It seems like there has been an increase of these people in the Castro district, as well as on Polk Street, and the Haight Ashbury. I have even seen them in Chinatown, where they are trying to convert many of the Chinese population that live in those areas.

San Francisco has always been known for its liberal and progressive thinking. We seem to now be a threat to Conservatives, and so perhaps it is true that planning has taken place to infiltrate our Progressive, Liberal city with people who think we are a wicked place that needs "saving".


I wish I had more proof of this.. I only know the feeling I get, by what I see happening at events, and demonstrations.

Perhaps I should not be too worried.. I am sure since the days of the red light Barbary Coast district, and the 1906 Earthquake, people have always tried to come here and right the wrongs they have seen here. Back then, those who were trouble makers, were bonked on the head and Shanghaied to China.. I only wish that it was still that easy.

5. I could be wrong, but it seems to me I read about a religious "revival"...

that occurred at the turn of the 20th century (early 1900's I think). I'll bet these fanatics are trying to recreate it. Keep a safe distance and wash vigorously if you come into contact with them and you should be okay.

8. When I lived in Salt Lake City

every time I moved to a new apartment, within three days there were Mormon missionaries at my door. That has never happened in San Francisco, and I hope it never happens, however, its not to say they are not here. I have seen them in their business suits, carrying their bibles, and their book of Mormom, and they were staked out in front of the California Academy of Sciences. That alone, made me think they were there to try and "educate" some people about their version of the world.

Don't you remember when they received some type of illumination from god about how ppl that were not white could now get into heaven (or where ever their system of beliefs takes them). I think it's cool when god can admit he was wrong.

somewhere. However, when I said "their version of the world", I was saying, and referring that they were standing outside the California Academy of Sciences.

Recently there have been religious groups protesting the Academy, because they don't mention Intelligent Design anywhere in the Museum.

with all their science and junk. I'll bet that school doesn't even teach the earth is actually 6000 yrs old. Question: Do you have any idea where these ppl come from or how they support themselves? Are they home grown fanatics or did Cali have to import them?

The California Academy of Sciences is a museusm of sorts. You can probably see it, on line if you google it. Its a most impressive place. My favorite is the T-rex skeleton (its a mock up, not the real bones) in their lobby.

As to where the group came from, my guess is they came from outside of California, but I am not sure, as Southern California has its own version of extremist Christians. I know everyone was quite disturbed that such a group would make its presence in our fair city, but it probably means we are a target now.
