For the past two months, Nigerian President Umar Yar’Adua has been missing from Nigeria. On Nov. 29, 2009, the president was flown out of the Nigerian capital Abuja and rushed to a hospital in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, after suffering from acute pericarditis, the inflammation of the thin sac surrounding the heart. The heart condition, paired with Yar’Adua’s longstanding kidney problems, has kept him in an incapacitated state to this day.
