| Are The Health Insurance Companies Pulling A Credit Card Tactic?...... |
|
When the new credit card bill was signed there was a period before it went into effect. In that time the credit card companies pulled all kinds of shennanigans before the regulations took hold.
Is this what is happening with the health insurance companies now? Is this why we are hearing about all these skyrocketing premium rates all around the country like Anthem's 39% hike in CA?
Are the insurance companies resigned to the fact now that HCR or insurance reform is coming - so they are moving quickly to hike up their rates before they become more regulated?
Is this why Congress and the Regressive's (formerly Repug's) are trying to draw this out? Are they attempting to give the insurance companies time to make adjustments?

I used to use Repug's - but I like the term 'Regressive'. If the shoe fits - wear it.

| 2. first the shenannigans, then the loopholes--we can't beat them w the weak legislation |
|
they're writing. They still aren't taking the problem seriously. Wait 10 years when everybody's family is affected and rates are quadruple what they are today. Maybe then they'll do something. When it's too late. I am more than disgusted w my representatives.

| 3. Oil companies, credit card companies, insurance companies |
|
and banking CEOs are all doing the same thing, the final looting before they get regulated out of thievery. Notice what oil prices did when the Democrats finally got the White House. Notice that the credit card usury really got going when Congress finally got around to regulating them. Now we're seeing the health insurers loot their customers and the bankers grabbing what they can today because they know the gravy train will derail tomorrow.
The only recourse we have to stuff like this is bringing back the progressive income tax on individuals and corporations. Only the disincentive to naked greed and legalized embezzlement of confiscatory taxation will end it.

| 6. no, they've been increasing their costs year after year after year |
|
nothing new for them.
I cannot remember ever having the same cost for the same benefits. The one time the costs went down it was because the benefits went down even more.
