AutoZone is NOT a Rush Limbaugh sponsor

Hello all,

After reading a list of sponsors of the Rush Limbaugh program on DU last week, I expressed my outrage to AutoZone, one of the sponsors listed.

Turns out, AutoZone is NOT a sponsor. What may have happened is that one of their spots was played by a local station during his program, which is not in accordance with the company's policy. AutoZone is asking that anyone who hears an AutoZone commercial during the Rush Limbaugh program immediately notify them with the call letters of the local station and the time of the offense.

Here is the very kind email I received from AutoZone. My original complaint was that no reputable business should sponsor Rush Limbaugh's drug-induced, ill-informed diatribes. As it turns out, AutoZone is (thankfully) not supporting this gasbag.

We are not a sponsor of the Rush Limbaugh show nor are our commercials suppose to air in this program. Unfortunately, there are occasions where a local radio station or network runs our commercials incorrectly-- outside of approved programs. We take these instances seriously and immediately contact the network responsible for appropriate action.

I would like to ask for your help- will you provide the city and/or the station where the commercial aired? This will help us resolve the problem much faster than our normal monitoring process allows.

Either way, I regret this happened and sincerely 'thank you' for taking the time to bring it to our attention.

Nice to see they adamantly insist that they aren't advertised during Limpy's show.

12. Sounds like Auto Zone is changing from the days I use to drive

an 18 wheeler for them. They are not labor friendly and are just as anti union as Walmart!
