Girl May Have Been Abducted As Payback
CHP Issues Amber Alert
Monday Was Supposed To Be Elvia's Last Day At High School Before Moving
LIVE OAK, Calif. (CBS13) ― The father of the Sutter County girl who has been missing since Monday thinks his daughter's disappearance is payback for something that happened weeks ago.
Jose Flores, the father of missing 14-year-old Elvia Flores, says that Elvia was allegedly assaulted by a woman two weeks ago. The family decided to press charges against the woman, and now he thinks the abduction was in retaliation for getting law enforcement involved.
Sutter County Sheriff's Department is investigating Jose's claims.
It was also revealed Tuesday that Elva may have known her abductors who allegedly grabbed her at school yesterday morning. It was also revealed that Monday was to be her last day at that school before moving.
Sheriff's deputies were at Live Oak High School today searching for Elvia. She was allegedly snatched along with her 14-year-old friend Elizabeth in front of Live Oak High School. The California Highway Patrol issued an Amber Alert for Flores late Monday night.
Elizabeth was found yesterday around noon in the town of Orland, 60 miles from school. She was picked up by CHP officer Tim Horwath who spotted her crying at a gas station on South Street at Interstate 5.
Officer Horwath says Elizabeth told him she had been kidnapped and could not find her friend, Elvia. He also says Elizabeth's blue jeans had been "ripped open on her left leg and her shirt was torn".
