Just went through security at SEATAC. No groping experienced or seen. Xray machines not in use. TSA people friendly and helpful.
Over the past few days there have been some very unworthy comments here. They really lower the bar at DU.

It really doesn't matter, in the Big Picture, if you're personally disturbed by it or not, in my opinion.
And the REAL HYSTERIA goes to the proponents of crap like this under the guise of the so-called 'wars' on 'terror' and (some) drugs.
Fighting shadows on the wall, my friend, is textbook hysteria.

by taking the scanners out of service and backing down on most of their procedures during the Holidays. Your experience really has no bearing on the wider issue, but I am glad for you you had no problems. That said, your opinion is just that, an opinion based on an experience of one and considerably illogical to think your one experience speaks for the wider world of all travelers, don't you think?.

Many of the stories posted about some of the most intrusive searches were true...so are people's concerns about how their personal liberties are being violated in the ruse of being "safe" despite the criticisms of most air travel experts.
So you lucked out this time. Many airports to keep the lines moving and from having incidents recorded by local newscrews went back to the old system, but be assured the new scanners and pat downs will be SOP. When you're singled out of line in front of people and taken away or put under "supicion" cause something doesn't look "right". Our airports have been turned into prisons. Now if you like that, enjoy your trip.

As long as people THINK tbey're safe, they will put up with any inconvenience or indignity.
But if they don't think they're safe, they might quit flying.
And that would be very unfortunate for the airlines, and by extension for the politicians they support.
That's why we have the Department of Fatherland Security in the first place.

Almost a year AFTER the underwear bomber ... and now women with pantyliners are being subjected to gropings because some guy looking at the screen couldn't see her vulva clearly.
