It was very difficult to take and even more so as her decisions have emerged that make clear she was thinking only of those kids--even to the point of having John there. Such strength and selflessness makes her loss all the more wrenching.

blessings. My husband caught his cancer extremely early and is pronounced cured so I cannot be ungrateful. I mourn the loss of Elizabeth. She can never be equaled.

18. I know how you feel. I almost don't want to believe it's true.

She was such classy, intelligence and forceful lady... a true advocate for those who had no one to speak up for them.

I never saw her complain about her lot in life; she just kept on moving with a grace that reminds me a lot of Jackie Kennedy.

It's a true loss for us, but most importantly for her beautiful children.

I am confident that I speak for a LOT of people when I say that we miss having you here more often. You represent all that is good about this forum.

It is sad, indeed, that Elizabeth Edwards died. Even knowing that her suffering is now over, does not lessen the loss that her family and friends, and the larger society, are now suffering.

Words truly fail me in regards to the loss of Elizabeth Edwards and why I haven't really posted about it. Her words and passions speak for themselves.

Glad you stopped in but sad it has to be under these circumstances or that the overall climate blowing around here has pushed you away. A DU vacation is not a bad thing. Hope all is better in your world soon so you can come back out here and enlighten once again.

I was out of DU for the 1st several months of this year due to surgeries - diverticulitis). Between that and some surgery for my car (engine rebuilt), this has been a year of repair and rehab for me.

But as someone once said - every day above ground is a good day.
