In the op-ed, Assange defends the publication of the secret documents. But he also writes, "Sarah Palin says I should be 'hunted down like Osama bin Laden."

It's that quote, being attributed to Palin, that apparently has her up in arms.

In a November 29 Facebook posting, Palin blasted the Obama administration's handling of the matter. And she also wrote, "Assange is not a 'journalist,' any more than the 'editor' of al Qaeda's new English-language magazine Inspire is a 'journalist.' He is an anti-American operative with blood on his hands. His past posting of classified documents revealed the identity of more than 100 Afghan sources to the Taliban. Why was he not pursued with the same urgency we pursue al Qaeda and Taliban leaders?"

I rec'd this post, but poor Sarah, stupid as she is, apparently has supporters who take offense at the exposure.

She was not the only one mentioned by Assange in his OP for having called for his assassination. He has apparently been keeping up with the news and named the former Canadian official who also called for his assassination but has since attempted to retract the statement, claiming he was just being, sort of, kidding!

He also refers to U.S. members of Congress who are calling for his death and the refers to the death threats against his family and the failure of the Australian Government to protect them.

Julian surely has all the heads of those states who are acolytes of the U.S. spinning so badly they are falling over themselves to call for blood hoping, I suppose, to get a pat on the head from the U.S.

But what the documents and the reaction of their leaders have demonstrated to the people of those countries, is how far they have compromised their sovereignty by taking orders from a foreign country on matters that directly effect their very lives.

I hope as people read these documents and watch the shameful behavior of their leaders in reaction to their exposure as the fools they appear to be, it will bring about big changes around the world.
