Where are the jobs?

The Bush Tax cut didn't create any. Why would the Obama tax cut be any different?

is supposed to stimulate job creation. But the effect won't be instant.

All it will do is ensure that the repukes will maintain that SS is unsustainable, since their plan to make those cuts permanent, and then dismantle it.

If anything, they cap on SS salary should have been removed. Everyone should pay SS deduction on their full salary.
That would ensure SS for at least the rest of this century and also make sure there were no cuts to those receiving it.

5. The lower payments will put more money in the pockets of lower and middle class

families who are expected to spend most of that money, thus stimulating the economy. The tax cuts for the wealthy, OTOH, will likely go into savings, which won't stimulate the economy.

The unemployment checks are another important stimulus, since the people who get them almost always have to spend the whole thing.

I do support removing the cap on the SS salary.

9. They're not bluffing. They think people on UI are lazy bums.

And they know that unemployment benefits act as a stimulus to the economy, and they don't want that.

They want the economy to be as bad as possible when Obama runs for reelection, because they know the average voter (who isn't anything like you because s/he doesn't follow politics) will blame Obama and not them. They're hoping Obama will be swept out in a landslide of miserable voters, and that they'll get to run on the coattails of whatever Rethug heads the ticket.

I'm not as averse to debt as some are, but only if it goes to the right places. This does not address anything but special interest BS.
