| If Hundreds Of Republicans Are Praising Something, It's Wrong |
|
I dunno how to put this in more clear and concise terms.
if republicans are praising the tax cuts, it's wrong.
capitulation on DADT, it's wrong.
capitulation on the DREAM Act, it's wrong.
payroll tax holiday? WRONG.
obama even MENTIONING sacrifice and social security in the same breath? WRONG.
I dunno how else to put it when congressional republicans and their paid talking heads are all cheering for stuff that it's WRONG.
these scum are our enemies. get it through your heads.
if rush limbaugh, the koch brothers, and paul ryan all think its good? IT'S WRONG.

| 9. The Tea Baggers are being consistent with the line they've been fed. Lower taxes, no deficit. |
|
And they see where this is going in terms of their values. Their party is backtracking on a core principle.
Sounds analogous.

| 7. They Know They Got A Fish... |
|
These tax cuts were set up as a time bomb for whomever succeded booosh...why they were set to sunset after he was gone. If it were a GOTB president and/or Congress, they'd just extend the cuts and throw in even more. As it happens, we had a Democratic President and Congress...stuck with a tremendous fiancial mess cause by those cuts compounded by 8 years of fleecing the treasury. Also as we're seeing this mess is deep and complicated and this administration struggles to keep the deck of cards from completely collapsing. They walked right into the rushpublican trap.
The one thing politicians fear is being labeled as "raising taxes"...that's especially the case with Democrats. Just listen how desperate this administration is when they talk about how bad things will be if the cuts lapse. They know that the rushpublicans and their proxies will run the TV ads early and often. It's not about jobs...it's all about covering ass. It's not about doing what's right, it's about doing what's politically expedient.
Not all rushpublicans are on board on this thing. There are those who want the cuts made permanent and the UE benefits extension eliminated. The party elite surely are happy cause they have set up more traps down the road...when the UE extention ends then another "debate" on extending the cuts right in the middle of the 2012 campaign. Damn right they're smiling...they hear the cash registers ringing.

| 10. They are GOING to do it anyways ... |
|
They have half the country convinced he has raised taxes already ...
The ink will not dry on this deal and they still start screaming that "he only extented these tax cuts until he gets to his second term, then he is going to tax the heck out of you!" The "liberal media" will advance that notion, and it will be reality by February ...
He will get NO credit for this disaster, he will get EVERY last bit of blame for the deficit that will continue because of it, it will be common knowledge that he will raise taxes the moment he is reelected ...
Just friggen disasterous that they can't know how this will work, which should not be a consideration, but should have only further cememted doing the right thing and letting them expire ...
You can draw a line and battle from that line facing forward, or you can keep trying to fight with your back turned in retreat ...

| 14. The Other Time Bomb...The Free Lunch |
|
The corporate media made the economic mess Obama's the second he took office. They let the teabaggers and rushpublican spinners create the meme that he was the one who did the bail outs (he didn't) and attacked the stimulus from the get-go (while behind the scenes taking the money and running). To keep this country from going into a 1929'ish implosion, there were the bailouts and stimulus that did prevent this country from going under but it left a stagnant economy...the result of 30 years of "trickle down", downsizing and outsourcing. Thus when everyone wasn't employed or was suffering from the fallout of the economy, it's now Obama's fault. The only way he wins here is somehow the unemployment numbers drop to 6% in the next 18 months. Don't hold your breath.
We're living on a lot of borrowed money right now. It's paying for two wars for profit and propping up not just a federal system that's being called on to do more but also in bailing out state and local governments who are facing their own financial disasters. Lots of money going out and less and less coming in thanks to less revenues from sagging retail and less people working. The boooosh cuts were a real disaster to states as their bottom lines were cut when the federal rates were slashed. We're adding more and more on a credit card that was maxed out long ago.
The ugly truth is taxes will have to be raised if people are to expect the government to be the do-all end-all...and if someone dares to cut anything, the screams will be loud. Everyone wants what they believe they're entitled to but give those same people the chance to escape paying for it, they'll take whatever deductions they can and yell they're still paying too much. Ignore the billions being squandered in two wars, it's that damn social security or those lazy unemployed that are at fault.
The shame is there are so many Democrats that are afraid of what others will say than to do what's right...and they know it!
Cheers...

| 12. To me, republicans appear to be wrong on every issue. |
|
I don't know of a single thing that I agree with these creeps on. Watching them support horrible, un-American policies while blocking any government action that would actually help anybody, anywhere, is just maddening. Listening to them praise awful brain-dead morons like Palin and Beck while trashing smart, thoughtful people like Obama is tremendously frustrating for anyone with a brain.
This morning the paper is full of republicans in Congress giving billions away to millionaires and our new Ohio governor forfeiting $400 million in rail money (and the thousands of jobs that go with it) to other states that are clamoring for it. (He isn't even in office yet, but he has gotten a head start on ruining the state.)
Will this just go on forever, until the nation is well and truly dead? Will the voters ever learn not to vote republican?
