| Al Gore possible Nobel Prize Winner |
|
OSLO (AFP) - Former US vice president Al Gore, Finnish peace broker Martti Ahtisaari and Chinese dissident Rebiya Kadeer are among those seen as possible winners of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize, as the nomination period draws to a close.
"The issue of global warming is also very topical and ... it wouldn't be impossible for the Nobel committee to honour a person combatting this threat. In such case, Al Gore ... seems to me to be a possible candidate," said Toennesson.
The former US vice president is currently criss-crossing the globe with his documentary "An Inconvenient Truth", a hard-hitting rallying cry against global environmental catastrophe.
An Oscar, Nobel Peace Prize....what's not to like ????

| 2. Not Nominated For An Oscar |
|
The film is nominated, and Davis Guggenheim, the director, would receive the award if it wins. Al has been invited to the ceremony by Davis, and could possibly appear at the podium if the film were to win.
But it would still be a great achievement, and a Nobel Prize would be even more significant, as it would be his, and his alone.
