| Do you do work on crafts less in the spring and summer? |
|
I'm finding that I just can't get all that excited about crocheting these days. Maybe part of it is that it has been hectic around here with the two weddings and end of the semester. I won't be teaching the first summer session so I'll have more time -- maybe I'll get back to it then. But the thought of covering my lap with an ever-growing afghan just doesn't sound that appealing. Maybe I should switch to something lighter! :)

It's been there a few weeks now. I might just let it go until autumn. It's getting warmer now, too.
After I see how busy we're going to be with the new garage construction, and that might not be too much, I might crack open the new Japanese embroidery book for some needlework. That can be small enough.
And there's always spending time just reading craft blogs. :D

| 3. Wow. You can do afghans? |
|
I never can. I start them only to wind up giving the yarn away or something.
Have you seen Couture Crochet by Lily Chin? Worth the money, in my opinion. She has great stuff in there.

I get overwhelmed with bigger things. Maybe make yourself a pair of socks (can you crochet socks? not sure...) or a hat or something, not too time-consuming, no long term commitment :D.

Maybe it's just these hectic weeks I've been having. I have a shrug to finish and then an afghan to begin but I just can't get motivated. :(

| 7. I spend more time out in the yard during warm weather and less |

time at crafts. Besides the yard work, which I enjoy, taking up a lot of my spare time, I find it harder to crochet in the summertime. If my hands are the least bit sweaty, the yarn doesn't slide through my fingers as easily and it gets too warm to enjoy holding a lap full of yarn.

I'll crochet smaller stuff, like chemo caps or string projects, in the summertime. I'll probably get hyped to sew just before my granddaughter's July birthday. Quick beading projects are good on a camping trip.

...when it gets warmer. I just don't have the time. We have a big garden that I take care of and a pool that I also do everything for.
I'm just dead by the end of the day......and my guilty secret....during the summer nights I like to play video games. Right now I'm playing Zelda The Twilight Princess.
Cheers

I'd really like a purse that's a bit larger and brighter than the one I'm using in my shoulder bag. Her colorful zippered pouch tempts me.

...I'm crocheting cotton placemats for my stepdaughter right now and they are small enough and light enough to not be uncomfortable to work on.
I also have three babies on the way. Luckily the first is due the end of September, the second the end of October and the third the end of November. I'll try to get the September baby done in the next few weeks before it gets too hot and leave the October and November babies for when I have to light the fireplace (or at least a chill is in the air).

I'm about to start a sweater so I can have it judged at our county fair in September.
I always have a smaller project going so I can carry it with me...socks or a small bag or something.
