crochet beginner + 25% mohair fingering weight yarn = ??? (input appreciated!)

So I nabbed 8 skeins of Patons Lacette ('hint of rose' color) today for $1 each! and now I have to figure out what to do with it. Looking at free shawl and shrug patterns on the internets, thinking something like that could be doable for a beginner, but so far they all seem to use bulky, worsted or sport weight yarn. Does anyone have any ideas on what I could make (and how to make it)?

To give you an idea of my ability level, so far in my crocheting career I've made a simple afghan, a few scarves, and and currently working on a ski mask (basically an in-the-round hat that goes down to the base of the neck, with a hole for the face).

1. Look for a lace tablecloth pattern.

Done in lovely yarns like you managed to get it would make a beautiful round shawl.

3. Keep in mind that mohair's halo makes it bigger.

Check the label and see what needle and hook sizes they recommend. Fingering weight mohair often still needs a much bigger hook.

I was lurking on this thread and spent well over an hour at that site. I bookmarked it and printed out four of the vintage thread crochet patterns--I love vintage anything! I also bookmarked the sister site, Knitting Pattern Central but mostly focused on the stitch pattern links while I was there. Those are both great resources and I could have spent all night at either/both of them.

7. Ravelry is a great place to get ideas.

If you are not aware of it go to Ravelry. When you sign up, usually takes a day or 2, you can go to the yarn tab and enter the yarn name and it will give you ideas. Unfortunately this yarn has been discontinued so you will not be able to get a lot of patterns.
