Themed jewelry

At a couple of craft shows, I've seen jewelry -- necklaces, bracelets, earrings -- made from tiny "realia" objects, to carry out a theme. I thought they were SO neat and would like to try making some. I love crafts but have never done anything but items for my family, except for the handmade fantasy stuffed animals I used to make and sell a long time ago.

Now I'd like to try something different (In my copious spare time, which I really don't have :))
Can anyone refer me to a book or websites about how to make these? Thanks!
