I'm wondering why it took me so long to find this group!

Hi everyone! Seems like a whole lot of kindred spirits hanging out in these parts!

So now I have tons of things I want to discuss, but let me start with this one:

Remember back in the 70s, those POW bracelets? Well, I had one, and wore it faithfully every day until "my" prisoner came home. "My" prisoner was John McCain.

Now, I know that they did not issue only one of each name, because the demand for the bracelets actually exceeded the number of POW/MIAs at the time. So I'm sure there are many more out there -- in fact, I know this for sure because many years ago, before I was politically aware, I wrote to McCain's office to offer the bracelet to him, and they wrote back telling me that they appreciated the offer, but I should keep it (and that they had received other similar offers).

So here's my question: if I wanted to sell it, would the right time be now? Any guesses as to what it might sell for?

Also, the bracelet is broken because that's what you did when you read in the paper that your person had been released.

1. What a neat thing to have. I imagine the McCain bracelets are pretty rare.

I haven't a clue what it's worth, but now is probably the time to sell. Why don't you try emailing this site and see what they think? Be sure to let us know what happens. Nice to have you here!

Generally you can find valuations for something like that online, or someone selling one from a storefront. So far in my google search I've found nothing. None listed on eBay, either.

I agree that now is probably the time to sell.

These things were a real symbol of the early 1970's - I remember them well.
