Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos expressed satisfaction over the progress made in trade relations with Caracas, resumed on August 10, 2010. The Colombian Head of State admitted that the two countries are reviewing allegations of Colombia's fictitious exports to Venezuela.
"The process is going well with Venezuela. We have given a boost to (working) committees. These relations are useful for all of us. What we had before was the worst of all worlds. There was only a worst-case scenario: war." Santos said, referring to the tensions between the two countries before Santos' inauguration, on August 7.
