Costa Rica's presidents, Laura Chinchilla, said Saturday that relations between her country and Nicaragua are "very hurt" and warned that "it will be very difficult" rebuild.
"Relations with Nicaragua have been severely damaged and will be very difficult to rebuild them, " Chinchilla said a local television news.
Although Nicaragua's president, Daniel Ortega, has said publicly that he will accept, either way, the ruling of the International Court he has on two separate occasions failed to heed to the demands of the Organization of American States (OAS) early on in the dispute.
The latest dispute between the two countries began last October when it was found that Nicaraguan troops occupied a piece of land deemed by Costa Rica as its territory, while the Nicaraguans claimed the same.
