"I am here to announce that Secretary of State (Hillary) Clinton has decided to impose sanctions on seven foreign entities under the Iran and Libya Sanctions Act of 1996," Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg told journalists, AFP quoted.
Sanctions include Pdvsa.
Steinberg explained that sanctions will prevent Pdvsa's access to contracts with the US government as well as funding to import and export, Reuters reported.
