Welcome to the Single Payer Health Insurance Systems Group
Edited on Tue Jun-09-09 12:59 PM by EarlG
The Group is a place to inform, debate, discuss, learn, teach, share, strategize, and organize on promoting and getting single payer health insurance systems adopted locally, statewide or nationally in the US. The Group is also a place to document and archive information and events, so please cross post articles, discussions and information of these issues from other forums or sources to this group.

1. Good idea; and needed.
And we'll hear more today -- hopefully something a bit better than that Dem senators have caved on the necessary public plan. And we can kvetch over the exclusion of any consideration of an effective, single-payer plan.

2. I read the Blue Dogs came out for a "trigger"
If that's the case there aren't the votes to pass anything even remotely decent in the house (unless one considers Romney Care to be decent.)

We should just kill the whole thing, pass the Sanders Bill that allows 5 states to use federal dollars to set up there own single payer "labratory" and start all over again.

Exclusion from the public policy debate of single payer is what led to this in the first place, and that was done by Obama, key Dem law makers, and the health care industrial complex

3. It's going to take a herculean battle...
I want Single Payer and I'll fight for it. But since health insurers control Congress I can't imagine seeing it in my lifetime. If I do, I'll have this forum to partially thanks.

4. Since 2004, I've questioned health care in TN & VA
Clearly Profit Care is more important than Patient Care. http://www.wisecountyissues.com/?p=62 MRSA is all over our communities, schools, homes, businesses but when you ask about what's being done, you are passed on to someone else, given an excuse or no answer at all. How many more will have to die while the politicians and the profit machines pad their filthy pockets ?
