| MSNBC just reported Lieberman has joined the healthcare negotiations at the White House. |
|
Evidently, his is the final word. It's all about Lieberman and those he really represents--and it seems not to be the people of Connecticut.

|
There's no point striking a deal that won't pass, so of course the senate conservadems have to be consulted before any public announcement of a deal.

Lieberman doesn't control anything. He has been elevated to a false level of importance and a manufactured level of indispensability to give cover to the Whitehouse and their blatant whoring to the insurance and big pharma industries.

He wants us to bomb Yemen, subsidize West-Bank settlements, place a minimum cost on mandated health-insurance and a minimum bonus for Health Insurance CEOs, establish poor-houses where those who cannot afford insurance can go to work for free until their debt to health insurance masters is paid off, provide free health insurance to Jewish Israelis, abolish all taxes on corporations and those with an income over $250,000 a year, agree not to run a Democrat for the Senate from Connecticut, and agree to provide electoral support for him no matter what party he belongs to or platform he runs on. Oh yeah, and he want a billion dollar golden parachute for retiring Senators from Connecticut.
Did I forget anything?

| 26. Ahhhh yes, Lieberman as "fall guy" ACT II |
|
I adore the theater!
I just happen to have a copy of the script for the next act--to be played out in a government near you!
Lieberman gets involved and this is heavily reported by the media. Just so we all know FOR SURE that it's Lieberman calling the shots and making a mess of things. Lieberman will give a few soundbytes. A few key Dems will emerge from Senate office buildings--wringing their hands and furrowing their little brows--looking upset and constipated, unable to concentrate, yadda, yadda, yadda.
Enter Lieberman stage right (reallly far right).
Lieberman makes some silly demands. He threatens to do this, that or the other thing. More facial constipation from the Dems, who look soooo helpless. Oh noes! If only Joe would get out of the way!!!
(((cue violins and the media crisis!!!)))
Then...the bad news comes down. The entire healthcare bill doesn't contain a public option or any other meaningful reform. BUT!! We have a bill!!
Elected officials join hands, sing kumbaya and demand that America suck it up and just enjoy the fact that something was passed--even if it is billion-dollar giveaway to the health-insurance industry and a mandate that we participate in a failed, broken system that will not change OR be reformed under this bill.
More kumbaya. More joining of the hands. More back patting. Then, the President emerges to declare victory. Defines this bill is a ginormous step forward for America and all her inhabitants. Teddy Kennedy's ghost is ever-so-delicately mentioned.
((((cue the saline, for big congratulatory and bittersweet tears))
Lierberman's reputation is destroyed, which is fine with him--because he doesn't plan on running for office again. Lieberman takes a job as a lobbyist for the healthcare industry--which he had been planning to do for years anyway.
The End. Curtain goes down. The actors in the House, Senate and the White House have a good laugh behind the scenes. Americans go about their business--as "history's actors" plan their next drama and screw-over on the American people.
