| Gov Brown is begging Meg buy it now for an early debate, too bad he does not understand her |
|
campaign. She will never debate or even acknowledge him.
Last week she locked out the press from all her campaign events and then has the gaul to turn around and offer her own video feeds of these events to the press(currently free of charge).
Sorry for Gov Brown he waited for too long to react and now he is locked out completely. His only hope is she loses her primary.
I think both he and Sen Boxer are in trouble.

Republicans aren't winning anything big in California this year, by the time November comes, all the air will be out of Whitman's overgrown campaign.

it is not about them. It is about the voters. Jerry Brown is the elected Attorney General of California, he's been elected Governor before. So the majority of CA voters do not share the view that he's 'Moonbeam'. What was Meg's first elected office again? Oh, yeah.

| 9. An interesting take. Brown challenges both Republicans to a |
|
debate during their primary, in advance of the general election, a thing I have never heard of before and you claim he waited too long? Because she's running her campaign like the roll out of a product? I see you say 'Moonbeam' down thread. Well. Goes to show you. California has elected Jerry Brown to more than one office. No one has ever elected Meg Whitless to anything. She's never run a campaign, much less won a campaign. I'd love to hear your examples of others who have challenged the entire primary ticket from the other party to debate. If Meg tries to evade debates, she will be crushed. Crushed. If she debates, she will be crushed. Her cowardly campaign style will not play. She is marked for loss, huge, giant loss. Even the Republicans do not like her. Her family has a terrible reputation across the state, and the tales of her rude offspring are waiting in the wings, juicy and releasable if needed. She has no idea how far in over her head she is. So that's my view.

|
is way behind Blumenthal in polling...25 to 30 points behind. I am not surprised by Whitman's spending. We have wealthy candidates in CT...even Ned Lamont spend millions of his own money against Lieberman. The thing with Whitman is she has zero elective experience and that throws the money around to hope people won't look at that.

And it's for the very reason I predicted a few months ago.
SHE AIN"T HOT!!!
They know Palin is a buffoon but at least they can fantasize about her.
Whitman is at least marginally smarter than Palin but she's no MILF.
Among the nicer terms I heard applied to her from my nephew and one of his idiot friends was "fugly".
They won't vote for a Dem, mind you but they will probably sit this election out. Come to think of it, I kinda think they sit a lot of elections out.

|
Edited on Sat Apr-17-10 10:42 PM by political_Dem
They've got to take these races seriously. Their lazy nature and lack of tactical planning causes us to lose in all races.
Isn't anyone in the Dem party afraid that there might be another Brown installed in office instead of someone who can do something to help the people?
And in the case of California, they're already sinking to the bottom in terms of education and services due to the Gubengrabber's management.
The folks of California can't have another Republican in office or else the state will be set back even further.
In California, the Dems cannot afford to lie down and roll over. It means life or death in this state.

Brown is smart as a tack and very tough and wiley when he needs to be. Meg is ultra-wealthy but still a newcomer to the political scene. I think she's starting too high on the ladder and will loose her footing. Jerry's Rolodex predates her buy-it-now narcissism.
Boxer has been written off before in Senate races. She's prevailed in all those races and I'm making an early call for her re-election this very night.

and you are right, Jerry Brown knows when & how to campaign and learned from his past experiences. Plus, he's active and well-thought, not 'well-rehearsed' and there is huge difference between the two. Palin was 'rehearsed' and that is what did her in big time. No wonder Nut Meg is hiding from the press.

| 25. Brown & Boxer should host 'empty' debates |
|
Publicize the invitations to their opponents and then have the debates televised; when they are the only participants and once the referee determines there is no debate opponent, then Brown and Boxer could use their time to articulate their agendas & platforms; the opposition would be represented by an empty podium and that would speak volumes.

and as much as you constantly poo poo Boxer's chances, i am convinced you don't know a thing about Boxer's previous elections and how she won them.
by the way, this thing about "getting a grip". that's not what my posts are about...they are about you making grandiose predictions and all i'm doing is saying the emperor has no clothes.
you make predictions and you don't give a crap whether or not you are right. you don't even seem to care to learn anything from having done this.
i mean, you've gone on about Boxer's chances before...do you even know who she ran against in her previous elections? were they conservatives, moderates, what? what were her margins? how did she manage to win when everybody said she couldn't? do you know?
if you don't, then why should anyone listen to you.

| 42. I have to admit I've been very concerned about "Meg". She |
|
has commercials on ALL THE TIME. I have yet to hear ONE Jerry Brown commercial. Many, many people here don't even know he's running.
I called the CA DEM. headquarters a few weeks ago asking them what was up. (I also called them way back when the recall of Gov. Davis was going on- They told me "it will never happen." Yea - right. I called to volunteer to do whatever I could and about three weeks later some kid -about 19 -who was in charge of the volunteers called me).
When I called about the upcoming Gov. race I asked why there wasn't buzz about Jerry Brown running they said he had name recognition and didn't what to promote his campaign this early.
I agree with the poster who said the Dem. leadership (if you can call it that)in CA is very lazy and IMO clueless. Meg Whitman isn't going to be in a debate now because she doesn't have to be. If she wins the primary, which I think she will, then she'll have to debate him. We'll see what happens then. To me, this woman shouldn't be underestimated.
