I emailed Archon Corporation and, noting that Lowden is on their Board of Directors, asked them if they were going to use the barter system in their business dealings. LOL

| 20. I hate to think what you'd have to trade for a Las Vegas boob job. I offered 2 goats for... |
|
... bloodletting, and in my PS I asked "In Las Vegas, what would one trade for a boob job, do you think?"
Mr Hekate barters with our veterinarian -- as a software professional, he helped revamp their system completely, but it started as one friend to another. At one point he tutored the vet's young son in algebra for a year (a smart kid was being turned off from math by a bad teacher), which was strictly an act of friendship--but it still counted against the cost of our pets' care.
On the whole though, I think professionals like to receive money for their services, cash, check or credit card, as it is a good deal more versatile.

I told hubby last night the next time we go to our doctor we should ask her if she prefers chickens or fish.
Imagine elderly patients needing treatment having to "paint" the doctor's home.
