HONOLULU -- Hawaii lawmakers are moving closer to passing a measure allowing the state to ignore repeated requests for President Barack Obama's birth certificate. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/04/21/AR2010042103986.html

accessing a special special authenticity fee or some other name. It would be available for requests of any births in Hawaii but would be required when requesting President Obama's bc while in office.
The fee would be from $25 to $50 in addition to the normal fee plus any postage costs.

Apparently these idiots are starting to be a real problem for Hawaii but state law requires a response of some kind to every request.
Of course the birthers will say that this is proof that Hawaii is in on the scam. :eyes:

I'd propose a bill that required every tourist from Arizona to present their "live birth record", raised seal and all, before they were allowed to step on Hawaii soil.

|
Republicans really want is for someone to say, "Hawaii isn't really a state, it's never been a State and anyone born there isn't really a U.S. citizen!"
They see it as that strange island that's not part of the U.S.--it is, after all, full of non-white natives, right? And the U.S. is white-man's land, so how can this island be anything other than a resort colony owned by the U.S. but not part of it? They keep going after that birth certificate, I think, in hopes that somewhere along the way the seal on it will magically say, "Born in Hawaii which is not part of the U.S...." I suspect that if Obama had been born in Kansas the number of "brithers" would be a lot less--not non-existent, but I bet they'd take a midwestern birth certificate more seriously than they do a Hawaiian birth certificate, even if they still wouldn't like it.
Let's face it, Obama is a quadruple wammy to Birthers who don't want to believe any of the following (1) Black president, (2) Half-Kenyan president, (3) Democratic president and (4) Born in Hawaii president.

|
... if the democratically-elected Democrat President was a white person. All they needed was a perceived opening to shove fantastical notions into. For example, the swift-boating of John Kerry, or the takedown of Max Cleland. This is the same ol same ol -- loony, disgruntled conservatives making shit up and trying to "prove" it's real.
