| Poll question: Help Louisiana or Fuck Louisiana? |
|
I'm seeing two trains of thought. Because Bobby Jindahl is such a hypocritical douchebag who hasn't met an oil driller's sofa bed he didn't like, now that there's a big spill, we should crap on his pleas for help and let him enjoy his just desserts; or
Yes, Bobby J. is a hypocritical jerk, but the crisis is real and impacting real people, so we should put politics aside and offer help to our fellow Americans.
What think you?

Unfortunately, we've got to support the fucking scumbag. The only thing we can do is bring the heat of a 1,000 suns on the first one of these fucktards who says "big government is bad!" in the future.

Are you saying that there are a significant number of people on here who are seriously saying that we should not help Louisiana because of Jindahl? Where are you seeing this?

Are you reading people who are saying "fuck Jindahl" and taking it as "fuck Louisiana"? Those are two different things.

"The only folks that moran has any business asking for help are all the other oil companies. He doesn't want to pay taxes so he can damned well get by without taxpayer-funded help."
they're not saying Bobby Jindahl doesn't personally deserve money. They're saying Louisiana doesn't deserve money.

Give LA all the help it needs, and make it clear that it is despite Jindahl, not because of him.

If Jindal doesn't beg for federal help, Obama will be criticized for socializing the clean-up.
You know.
Another big-government take-over blah blah blah.
"I'm from the government and I'm here to help."

this isn't about Jindal...it's about all the birds, fish, shrimpers, fishermen, and people of Louisiana who live there and deserve to be able to SURVIVE THERE!
I take this personally because Louisiana is my home.

| 17. Of course we need to offer help! But Jindal just made me SICK by talking just now during the |
|
briefing in LA by Napolitano, Salazar, AND Jindal. He looked/sounded like he was trying reaaaaally hard to be "tough" and "on the case." I'm glad that Salazar spoke after him to reiterate that they have been on the case since "day one."

Jindahl is a total fuckwad, let me be clear. And he's going to use this for ever bit of political advantage he can wring from it. But we've had more than a few threads suggesting we withhold help to LA because of their support for drilling, etc. That's just got to be shut down. We've got to figure out a way to emasculate Jindahl without gumming up the quick response on the spill.

In these types of disasters, it's easy for messages to get sidetracked for a dozen reasons. Obama has GOT to be on top of his game here, and so does the rest of his team. If heads need to roll, nows the time for him to do it.

|
After this, people aren't going to remember his joke of a response to Obama's first address to Congress. This disaster is for him what 9/11 was for Rudy Giuliani. After that, nobody said another word about Amadou Diallo, Abner Louima, his ex-wife or his fight with the Brooklyn Museum.

Every section of boom, or other piece of equipment should have an "Obama" or "Vote Democrat" sticker... workers can have "assistance provided by US Govt" patches on their coveralls. Use the opportunity to get the message across. If Jindal doesn't like it, then no help.

You mean the way that this is a result of poor FEDERAL REGULATIONS of a FEDERAL PERMIT on FEDERAL WATERS?
Or the way Louisiana gets royally FUCKED by the Feds in terms of mineral rights?

|
The way I see it, if I were to choose the latter, I'd be doing Louisiana one HELL of a favor! Louisiana would certainly want it again; they always do! And my wife would be quite cross!
And to be a little more serious, Bobby Jindal does not equal Louisiana. The land, the people, the culture: this is Louisiana. Jindal is just a governor.
