Support for President Obama's health care reform law has increased since it was signed into law in March, a new CBS News poll shows -- 43% of Americans now support the measures, up from 32%.

However, 47% of Americans still disapprove of the new law, down from 53% in March.

6. Why does it need to be "explained away?"

I'm not sure if you mean the mandate to have insurance? That's one of the reasons I liked Obama's plan over Hillary's during the primary. That reversal pisses me off more than the public option everyone is harping about in unison.

But I can also recognize that we've laid the groundwork for universal health care and states are even allowed to set up a single-payer system. We can make progress by improving the bill, but a loss now probably would have meant another 15 year delay like we had after the '93 defeat. I understood from the start that nothing the current Congress will pass is going to be exactly what I want. The perfect should not be the enemy of the good.

4. There is a lot no one knows. Flexible spending is going to be reduced by 2500 bucks for one thing

and a lot of people who relied on that are not going to be too happy

There are other issues too that know one really knows how it will come out in the wash

I still think it is better we have something than nothing, but there are elements in the HCR that will hurt a lot of people who are NOT wealthy
