Pelosi Heckled At Liberal Activist Conference

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) was heckled during a speech she gave before a gathering of liberal activists Tuesday in Washington.

A short YouTube video recording has emerged of the flap at the "America's Future Now" conference. Protesters unfurled at least three banners, one of which read "Stop Funding Israeli Terror," likely a reference to the Gaza flotilla controversy.

At points, Pelosi can be heard raising her voice trying to speak over the protesters' shouts.

President Barack Obama has also been interrupted by protesters at campaign events twice this year; each time over the "Don't ask, don't tell" policy against openly gay military service members.

In a Democracy we can work and push even on "our own side" if we are unhappy with what we are getting. That is how the system works and what makes it work. It's a shame that not everyone understands that here.

10. It is a shame that some do not realize that they made it impossible for Pelosi to speak

- on anything. They accomplished nothing. It did not give Pelosi any greater knowledge of the flotilla, nor did it give the protesters any insight on Pelosi's opinion on that. I saw the tape. It was not democracy. It violated the rights of Palosi to speak and the rights of all who wanted to hear Pelosi.

7. Actually, I think these people hand the Republicans a gift

I saw Fox covered this. In fact, they said Pelosi was shouted down when speaking of the healthcare bill. It was impossible to hear what was shouted - so the impression given was that the Democrats don't like the Health care bill.

The fact is that Obama and Pelosi are 100% aware of DADT and of the flotilla.

I think it is great to ask a question on either issue if there is a Q and A - or even shouting it out as they are leaving in hopes of an answer. I think that protesting by having signs inside an event or even signs and calls OUTSIDE the event are fine. I think it is 100% wrong that they shout at the speaker or President. The fact is the rest of the people came to hear them - not the protesters.

Pelosi was there to speak about the healthcare bill. She might even have intended a Q &A. Instead there were people shouting and preventing anyone from hearing anything. This was not dialogue - it was simply rudeness.

2. Holding Bush accountable to the rule of law is the responsibility of Congress.

The lack of serious hearings or investigations is the U.S. Congress' worst failure in a generation. Anything Pelosi does from here on out is poor compensation for that failure.

8. There is no controversy regarding the Gaza flotilla. It was Israel's murderous assault

on unarmed humanitarian flotilla, anyone that says otherwise is just lying.
