The WH is suggesting that Lincoln is a good candidate and given that she is the incumbent who has been nothing but a thorn against major core Democratic values, that’s asinine to begin with. Add to that, the idiotic claim that the unions were “wasting” money… well the money would not have been necessary if she stepped aside and the establishment backed a Democrat. I am not seeking party purity and politics involves pragmatic solutions and certainly a conservative state means not getting everything you want from anyone who represents it – however, believing in – or at least not bashing CORE Democratic beliefs is not acceptable.

The point is that if money was “wasted” it’s the establishment’s fault. Period.

In any case, it would seem they are trying to deliver the message that the union was wrong to use their $$ to back a candidate who is more pro-union than Lincoln. While some of us think that's exactly what primaries are for, to widen the field and provide voters with real choices.

So yes, Halter lost. But not by much. And given that Lincoln is an incumbent, she got slapped, just not hard enough.
