http://campaigntrail.qctimes.com/?p=2397The Iowa Family PAC announced today it is sitting out the governor’s race.
The PAC, an arm of the Iowa Family Policy Center, a social conservative group, endorsed Bob Vander Plaats in the Republican primary against former Gov. Terry Branstad.
At the time, the group said at the time if Vander Plaats lost, it would stay out of the general election.
There was some speculation last week it might change it’s mind, but that was doused today.
“Our commitment to Biblical principles and the constitutional rule of law is not the result of any political affiliation, nor is it something that changes depending on the names on a ballot. If a candidate or their political party would like our support, they will need to offer a plan for promoting public policy that honors both God and the constitution,” Danny Carroll, the IFPC Action chairman, said in a statement today.
